Advanced Arbitration Brief Writing seminar is being offered by University of Oregon's Labor Education and Research Center, February 1-5 2004. in Portland.
This program will be of special interest to all union staff who are responsible for presenting grievance arbitration cases. It is an intensive seminar designed to help union advocates improve their skills developing post-hearing briefs. All class participants will develop and write a brief during the four-day program, and it will be reviewed and critiqued by an experienced arbitrator. In addition to the brief writing exercise classroom sessions will cover: The Theory and Structure of the Post-Hearing Brief Brief Writing Techniques Evidence in Arbitration Remedies in Arbitration Cross-Examination Techniques
Seminar instructors will include faculty members of the Labor Education and Research Center, and two prominent National Academy of Arbitrator members: Tim Williams and Jane Wilkinson. The fee for the program is $850, which includes four nights of lodging at the Benson Hotel, an opening night dinner, four lunches, all breaks and seminar materials.
