Here's another nanotech battery article. In this case, human blood is the source of energy. That has some posibilities.

Interesting AI article Closing In On Consciousness. We all know about HAL. But many SF stories explore the challenges of AI. This can be a start.
A number of recent articles highlight a few of many efforts to define consciousness - both in humans and perhaps one day in machines. A major new library of digital images from 7000+ subject brains has gone online, offering a new way to perform comparative studies and look for similarities and differences that define thought and consciousness. A new book is out that suggests an alternative to the Turing test may be as simple as looking in the mirror. Other research is showing that appreciation for music - long thought to be an example of conscious enjoyment - may in fact be just a byproduct of our brains being hardwired to understand language. And finally, DARPA is taking the first steps in creating what could ultimately become a machine consciousness in decades to come.
