After reading all of the Asimov Robot Stories, its interesting, but depressing to read about current robot technology. Here's an article about the USAF robots.

Research supports the idea that DNA, the basic building block of life, could also be the basis of a staggeringly powerful new generation of computers. It has to do with the way computers and living things store data in strings.
