Weblogs : Weblogs in the Workplace.

Blogs Starting To Make Their Mark in the Workplace:

"Not an hour goes by here in which someone isn't interacting with blogs," said Jim Coudal, president of Coudal Partners, a small Chicago advertising firm that has embraced the technology. "It's an effective, simple repository of information that saves keeping track of a bunch of e-mails on Outlook Express and figuring out who to carbon copy."

Blogging, though, is half the battle. If big companies start to use weblogs to disseminate information, they should try to use RSS as well to retrieve that information. There are downsides to blogging and work (and this article points them out well), but the benefits definitely outwiegh the deleterious issues.

Weblogs : "Blogworld" article on CJR.

Emerging Alternatives: Blogworld:

"The "alternative" press has lost its edge. It has coagulated into money-making chains and been sued by federal trust-busters. The very notion that it represents a crucial alternative to a media establishment seems quaint. Weblogs, with the fire of the original underground press and a global reach, are eclipsing their forefathers." (link via Commons-Blog)

Too long to read tonight. I'll print it out at work and read it during lunch tomorrow. Looks interesting...
