Earlier this week, I Tivoed a program that I thought might be entertaining, Searching for Debra Winger on Showtime. Basically it was a bunch of middle-age movie actresses talking about balancing work and the rest of their lives as they got older. Kind of ho hum stuff (for me), but almost at the end it got to an interview segment with Jane Fonda. In it, Jane talked about the perfect before-the-camera performance, an experience she said she has had only 8 times out of about 50 movies she's done. It was a riveting description of movie acting at its pinnacle, but it could have applied to almost any high-pressure situation. That bit made it worth sitting through all the other stuff. And I ain't a big Jane Fonda fan, either. Definitely worth watching.
