Soul Made Flesh Interview

I'm about a third of the way through Carl Zimmer's new book Soul Made Flesh. It's about some of the early stages (1600s) of neuroscience, especially neurology. The book focuses mainly on the doings (and thinkings) of Thomas Willis, and does a great job of putting all of this into the context of the times it took place. I'm not ready to post much on the book just yet, but I did run across an hour-long radio interview Zimmer did on Minnesota Public Radio this week. Worth a listen.

Life Imitates Blog

In previous posts Procrastination Cure and Letting Go of Memories I wrote about a couple of novel behaviorally-based techniques for not putting things off and for remembering things. Somewhat along these lines, the Brain Waves blog refers to a startup company marketing an apparently behaviorally-based approach to forgetting unwanted memories. There's not much on the company's site just yet, but it is at least interesting to note.
