Outsourcing to create more jobs in US: The movement of IT and related jobs from the US to offshore locations such as India is for real. But there is another facet to it. For every two jobs offshored or moved outside the US, 22 new jobs will be created in the US, according to an economist from McKinsey Global Institute. [Deccan Herald: Business]

Honda workers seek record bonus. TOKYO — The labor union of Honda Motor Co will demand a record-high annual bonus equivalent to 6.6 months salary during this year's spring wage negotiations, union members said Wednesday. UK backs India outsourcing. The United Kingdom will not put up barriers to protect British firms against tough competition from India. British minister for energy and e-commerce, Stephen Timms said that Indian firms would boost the competitiveness of British industry. US demand for services at record. Demand for service industries, such as hotels, travel agents and restaurants,surged to record levels in January, an industry report showed. in the US hit a record in January, giving further evidence of recovery in the world's largest economy. Italy faces fines over teachers. The European Commission is calling for Italy to pay record fines over its discrimination of foreign language lecturers at Italian Universities. The European Commission is calling for a daily fine of 309,750 euros (£200,000) because Italian foreign language teachers are better paid than lecturers from other EU countries who work in Italy.
