Louisiana Pacific extends mill closure. LP's oriented strand board mill in Woodland, Maine, which employed 105 people, has been closed since mid-December and was originally scheduled to resume production in April 2004.  Business Journal of Portland Feb 24 2004 6:37PM GMT

A study about jobs moving out of state. The study, conducted by the consulting firm Bain & Co. for the California Business Roundtable, marks one of the most ambitious efforts yet to analyze the political hot-button issue of the state's business climate.

San Diego's  Bond Rating Downgraded. S&P officials cited the city's investment losses and serious underfunding of the municipal pension fund among the reasons for their decision to downgrade the bonds. A federal investigation into the city's financial disclosures and practices also influenced the decision, analysts said. The agency said that additional downgrades could follow depending on the results of that investigation.
