This evening Mikayla went for her baptismal interview. She will be eight years old next Wednesday, the age when a child can be baptised in our church. During the interview the Bishop (leader of our local congregation) talks to the baptismal candidate to make sure they understand and are ready for the commitment they are making.

We ate dinner before Mikayla left with mom to visit the Bishop's office. Tyler had some words of brotherly advice when the topic turned to how Mikayla felt. Between popping pieces of sweet-and-sour pork into his mouth he put on his thoughful face and told her quite seriously that if the Bishop asked her about something that is blue and that flies that she should say, "bluebird." We aren't quite sure why he thought this would help, but it was thoughtful of him to prep her for what he must think is quite a test of one's knowledge of the world.

Mikayla came back from the interview quite content and ready for her baptism on October 9th. She will have an aunt and both grandmas there so I'm sure she is excited.
