| Superelastic Iconoclastic Spanning the globe... to bring you a constant variety of lucidity Gatorade: The Legend Continues
With the return of college football, any chance I might otherwise have of a productive Saturday afternoon goes right out the window. I've never understood why. I'm a huge baseball fan, but an MLB game on TV won't usually pull me in like college football does. It's probably because I don't really have a rooting interest in any particular team (though I did go to a perennial Division III powerhouse college), which makes it less heartbreaking when I watch games. Pick a team, any team. Cheer for them about 15 minutes or so, then dial in something else and repeat. Go BC! Or not.
That might also explain why all I can tell you about my afternoon of viewing is how much I really like the latest Gatorade commercial. It segues two of my favorite psychedelic 60's tunes, uses a nifty video filter to fake that grainy Technicolor look, is narrated by the legendary Keith Jackson having a little fun with his image, and antagonizes Vikings fans who might have forgotten the result of Super Bowl IV. Best ad I've seen in a while, but since it doesn't make me feel like I need an infusion of electrolytes suspended in a watered-down orangeade drink, probably a failure nonetheless. 7:44:11 PM Watch returned after 60 years
An amazing story, but not of the "if this watch could talk" variety... seems the watch spent most of those years in some Brit's sock drawer.
If I have similar luck, the class ring I lost while playing Frisbee on the quad in college will come back to me in another 39 years. Can't wait! 4:20:32 PM Who am I? Why am I here? ...fzzzt! Ping-pong match! I was considering writing some long-winded inaugural post, but the longer I wrote, the more I sounded like Admiral Stockdale, so I just decided to post the results of a web quiz that (like so many of them seem to do) nibbles at the edges of an accurate, yet concise, personality description: Who am I? Why am I here?
I'll be struggling with learning how to do things on Radio UserLand for a while, so if you stumble onto this while I'm in Beta mode, bear with me. 3:04:49 PM
