Excuses are like assholes...
I feel I should apologize for not posting much of substance this past week, but I remembered how much I hate it when other bloggers do that. I'm not getting paid for this. This is a hobby. Life intervenes sometimes. I had the best of intentions... blah blah blah.

I've been a little self-absorbed this week. Nothing bad. At times, far from it. But I'm at a loss every time I sit down to try to write about them generically. As I wrote here a while ago, it's some of the hardest writing I'll ever do. Those parts of my frozen brain will thaw and I'll bring you in soon.

Meanwhile, I could throw some bloggety blog stuff up here every day, I suppose, with little effort. Is that what you're here for? Okay, strap in...

Rush Limbaugh gets in trouble for forgetting he wasn't on his radio show. The NFL audience is more diverse, and dare I say it, more knowledgable than in Ditto-head land. Is anyone surprised that this happened? I'd have loved to have heard the phone call Paul Tagliabue made to Michael Eisner on the heels of this.

There's allegations of Cabinet-level skulduggery, involving the "outing" of a CIA operative to get even with a columnist critical of the Bush administration. Is anyone surprised that this happened? I'm becoming very, very afraid of the abuses of the USA Patriot Act.

One of the crouching tigers at the MGM Mirage got a piece (more like a chunk) of Roy Friday. Tigger had enough tastes of the whip, I guess, and did what came naturally... sent his tormentor back to sit in Pooh Corner. Nothing against Siegfried & Roy; there's an audience for what they do or they wouldn't do it. And I hope Roy bounces back. But again, is anyone surprised...

Arnold played him a little game of grab-ass on the sets of his movies back in the day. Breaking news! I don't riff on the sexual harassment vibe too well, it's nothing to joke about. But surprised?
