| Superelastic Iconoclastic Spanning the globe... to bring you a constant variety of lucidity "Not all Americans are stupid" [via Toohey World]. Feeling kinda smug this morning... You answered 19 questions correctly out of 20. You have an impressive understanding of the world for an American. It is likely that you feel intellectually isolated in your home country, and often have to hide your opinions from others. Deep down, you realise that your country is the single biggest threat to world peace in modern times, but you have not yet summoned up the courage to emigrate. The one question that kept it from being a slam-dunk for me had to do with the military chain of command from Nazi Germany. Now, you might ask, if I'd gotten a lesser score... say, 14 of 20... would I still be doing a happy Snoopy dance and showing my score off? No... I'd simplytake the test again until I got a better result. In other words, I'd cheat, something xenophobic Eurosnobs might gleefully dismiss as a quintessential American attribute, if they were blinkered enough to take that bait. Then again, might an American programmer have been smart (or perhaps mistrusting) enough to cookie the site to make such cheating at least a little harder? Though some questions repeat, they are random, so go over there (via the title link), hit that Flash page like a slot machine until you run the table, then come back here to tell me that you "beat" me.
By the way, I know this is all in fun (as the site authors jovially point out), but our USCIS (what we, until recently, called the INS) manages to stay pretty busy, and offers a smidge of insight as to who's "courageous" enough to emigrate to "where," even now. Guess we stupid Americans still have a few superficial things to offer the tired, poor and huddled masses. 10:12:29 AM
