Happy Decemberama
It would be downright Ebenezerish of me to permit this week to pass without expressing some form of cheer to those of you inclined to accept same. I'm a bit numb to it all this year, as I've already chronicled here. But I have no ill feelings towards those freely making merry, and wish the best of times to all my family, friends, fellow bloggers, enemies, former in-laws and defenders of the realm. Happy Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, Festivus. Voulez-vous bon temps rouler (mieux vaut tard que jamais)!

Some of the things that have made this such a bittersweet time of year for me are gradually loosening their grip on my psyche. Some are fresh in my mind and will never go away. I'd feel too self-absorbed to spill it all into the blog, but fret not. I have remarkable coping skills, tested and approved by leading area psychologists.

I'd like to create more new, happy memories to crowd out some of the old, shitty ones. I'm doing better on that score than I was this time last year. While I still have a way to go, and I'm a bit behind where I thought I'd be now, even small forward movement is measurable progress. 5:25:39 PM    comment []trackback []
