The State Of The Union Drinking Game
If you thought playing "Hi, Bob" to the various incarnations of Newhart sitcoms was a good way to get smashed fast, stay away from this.

I don't drink, and don't condone binge drinking as a reasonably healthy thing for others to do, but this just cracked me up. Maybe try this with non-alcoholic drinks, and lock yourself out of the bathroom to see if you can withstand the hour.

Is someone suggesting tonight's speech is going to be formulaic? Last year's sure wasn't. Last year, it was all about yellow cake (Duncan Hines? Yum!), and the axle of terror, and unholy alliances and warmongering. But this, friends, is an election year. We want to be positive, and so it's a safe bet we'll hear nothing but good news tonight. Lots about taking trips to Mars, not so much about the deficit we're building at a $500bn per annum clip.

Go to the game list (via the title link) and see if there's any way someone could "play" this without inducing alcoholic coma. I rather hope nobody will be tempted. Odds are very good we'll hear "Saddam" (2 drinks), "nukular" (1), another Bushism besides "nukular" (2), prescription drugs (2), and "bipartisan" in reference to prescription drugs (2).

Odds not so good we'll hear mentions of the deficit (3 drinks), "Leave No Child Behind" (3), or references to the "average family of four" (2).

There's a bonus round for the opposition response, too. If the Democrats say "alienating our allies," for example, that's worth two drinks.

Bet you guys that hoisted too many for the AFC Championship game didn't realize Sunday was just a warmup, huh? 11:43:06 AM  permalink  comment []trackback []
