This NY Times op-ed article on what accounts for the rise in suicide terrorism is currently at the top of the "most emailed articles" list (a great source, btw, for the most interesting topical news and ideas - the zeitgeist of the day). In it, researchers report that they found "there is little connection between suicide terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism, or any religion for that matter." The conclusions are unexpected - and their implications are critical to US foreign policy direction. If only the Bush hawks would stop persisting in their denial of reality.
