September in the Yukon
Yuck
15 cm of snow on our lawn this morning. Downtown by comparison looks almost spring like.
Yesterday was the day that Iris and her classmates were supposed to climb the golden stairs on the Chilkoot. It was to have been a 12 hour hike. Apparently they have turned back and will be arriving in Whitehorse sometime today. I'm so glad they didn't attempt it....I suspect the conditions up there would have been horrendous and quite dangerous.
