Happy Halloween
Last night was a busy one, what with Joe's birthday celebrations and the usual last minute scramble for costumes. I checked my candy stash that I had hidden away a week ago, and there were six little chocolate bars left, so back to the store I went, after giving dire warnings of what would happen to any of the brood silly enough to lay as much as a finger on the new supply.
Jamie has decided to be a zombie this year....simple but effective costume of black torn and baggy clothing and a grey, green and 'bleeding' face. And three guesses what Iris decided to be......you got it, a ballerina. She borrowed one of the classical tutus from the dance school. I wasn't going to let Iris go out this year, thinking she was too old, but at the last minute I caved in.
Alan is pre-occupied with soccer try-outs that are taking place this week-end (and if he makes it through this round he'll be invited back next week-end) for the Yukon's Arctic Winter Games team. He's nervous because they just moved indoors this week and he's having trouble adjusting his play to indoor style. Wednesday night he played and felt terrible afterwards. Even one of the referees said to me later, "What's up with Alan?" Anyway, we'll see what happens. They only choose eight kids to go, so competition is fierce.
