| One of the fun things about going to minor league baseball games is knowing that you are probably going to see at least one of the players in the big leagues some day. After a Bowie Baysox game in 2000 I was convinced that one of those players was going to be Eddy Garabito (he had hit two home runs that afternoon). I was a bit puzzled as the years passed by to not see his name pop up in an Orioles box score. Well, his name was in the box score for last night's game...but for the other team. According to MLB.com's story Camden, finally for Garabito , he played 1001 games in the O's organization without ever being called up. The Rockies signed him to their AAA team before calling him up due to injuries to their infielders. He went into tonight's game hitting .414 through fourteen games. Tonight, he hit the first home run of his nascent big league career. May it be but one of many. Jackpotzrebie comment []10:13:23 PM   |
