Senate Campaign blogs

While doing my daily Technorati  and Feedster searches, I've discovered that the Doug Gallagher campaign has added a campaign blog complete with rss feed.

This makes him the first of the Republican candidates to have a weblog on his site.

Heavily influenced by Howard Dean's campaign, Betty Castor's website has the BettyBlog, which has had regular posting since the end of May.  Alex Penelas' blog has been nowhere near as busy.
Peter Deutsch is the only Democratic candidate to not have one.

Senate Campaign News 20040803

Four hours until the Democratic candidates have their debate that will be televised state-wide on NBC stations. Alas, I am not in Florida to see it.

3 U.S. Senate candidates hope to shine in debate (Orlando Sentinel, registration required).

Peter Deutsch's campaign sent an e-mail to his supporters asking those in the Palm Beach area to gather outside the television studio where the debate is taking place to cheer Deutsch when he makes his arrival.

The Federal Election Commission is going to be busy with this race. The Doug Gallagher campaign formally filed a complaint with the FEC over Mel Martinez' television ad and Deutsch filed a complaint alleging that the fundraising group Emily's List is illegally coordinating with the Betty Castor campaign.

The Tampa Tribune has a biographical article on Peter Deutsch

Surprisingly early, the St Petersburg Times released their voting recommendations on Sunday. It seems to me that they just went with the pundits' favored candidates. They didn't really offer strong reasons for their endorsments of Betty Castor and Mel Martinez.

Peter Deutsch's latest tv ad

It's been posted for a few days (a few days after it hit television screens around the state), but I've only now had the means and time to transcribe it.

It's focus is health care.

It's done in Flash, so there's no direct link, but it's the one entitled Fight for Healthcare
