Hurricane Frances Update 041100L

At 11 AM EDT, Frances was 80 miles east of Palm Beach, Florida and drifting to the west / west-northwest.  Maximum sustained winds remain at 105 mph and minimum central pressure is 962 millibars. Observations of hurricane force wind gusts from points west of the northern half of Frances are starting to appear.

From Miami radar, it appears that a very large eyewall has formed (and is starting to compress).  This is an indication that Frances is getting herself more organized and that she may strengthen a little bit before landfall.  Looking at the visual satellite loop, it is hard to discern what motion she is actually making; she's wobbling west and northwest.

Watching Melbourne radar I saw a little earlier a nasty looking squall line that extended from Orlando to Sebring, something that looked like it could possibly generate a tornado.  Weatherbug blogs from Osceola County's Emergency Operations Center that they received a report of a tornado sighting.
