Here
the focus is on me: who I am, what I do,
what's really important to me,
my hobbies, my friends and family, my life...

How This Weblog has Changed My Life... OK, maybe not. Nevertheless, as a final Weblog-related assignment for my class, I have to post my "comments on blogs, [my] blogging experience, and anything else". Well then... I'm really glad I started doing this blog, because it's been lots of fun, and I do plan to keep doing it. I'm still trying to decide if I want to stick with Radio and buy the software, but one way or another I'll keep blogging. What I've always found most amazing about the Internet is how it allows ordinary people a variety of forums and media for self-expression and self-discovery, not to mention just learning about the world. Blogs are great. Blogs allow people space to talk about what's important to them, what's going on in their lives, what they think about the world, what they think others should be aware of, etc. Blogs are a perfect showcase of the diversity of humanity. And blogs can be used in lots of different ways. One extreme I think is the "LiveJournal" model, which is, at least the way the people I know use it, a lot more like a traditional journal: you talk about what's going on in your life and how you feel. Another extreme is a news feed or a commerical blog--there's no personal aspect. And then there's everything in between. My blog here has so far been somewhere in the middle... Because I've been taking a web design class, and also because it's just my nature, I've been focusing a lot more on form than many bloggers or online journalers do. I've spent untold hours perfecting the appearance of my blog... Anyway, in the future I want to use the categories feature to make several different blogs with different themes. A person will be able to see everything from my main page, since it all comes from me, but the individual blogs will be self-sufficient, so a visitor wouldn't necessarily ever know about the other parts.
