Hello Everyone, The message below just came in today. Looks like a lot of fun and for a good cause to boot. It sure would be great to see a team wearing "Psy Society T-shirts from Kwantlen" at the Bear Creek Park event. (Arleigh and I have t-shirts at the Surrey campus or you can get them at the bookstores. 22 members of the Psy Society Sun Run team have special Sun Run Psy Society t-shirts too) So read below and contact Marissa or Inge. (Marissa is a recent graduate of Kwantlen with a B.A. degree in psychology.

Hi Mr. Woodson,

I don’t need volunteers for the event so much as I need a team. I was thinking the team could call themselves the Freudian Slips J. What’s involved in being in Psi Chi? I might be interested. (I suggest they just call themselves the Kwantlen Psychology Society, but I guess they can figure something out for themselves, but appreciate your humor.)

With regards to the Relay, a team of 8 or more people raises money and takes part in a 12 hour, non-competitive relay. It costs $25 to register, and included in that price is a t-shirt and breakfast. The night is full of fun and fellowship, and a moving Luminary Ceremony where we light candles placed in bags that have the name of someone who has beaten cancer or who has died from the disease. If you could drum up any interest among Psi Chi or among the psyc staff at Kwantlen, I’d appreciate it.

Thanks so much,

Marissa de Waal-Malefyt, B.A.A.
