Over at TechCrunch, one of my favorite tech blogs, is a post about the anticipated slowdown in IT spending along with speculation that that will lead to an boost of interest in Web 2.0 properties--read software as a service or "cloud computing." This is the Salesforce.com concept that the application resides in a server off site. I've written about this a few times over the past few years. I have been a little skeptical, but the technology seems to be catching up to the vision. How interested are you in SaaS? Do you use Google Docs now? Did you know you can use Amazon.com for cheap storage? Even some automation suppliers are getting into the act. We'll see. Could be interesting.
