The Season Begins The Season Begins. Organized bike rides are beginning to show up on the calendar again (at least for those of us not in BikeWinter mode, when the calendar never stops). Our first ride of the season is usually the Wheeling Wheelmen's St. Patrick's Day Ride, this year on Sunday, March 14. Day of ride registration only: 16, 20 and 36 mile routes. Last year Russ and I dropped Mr. R. fairly easily on the Schaumburg Bike Club's Spring Forward Ride (this year April 4: 18, 31 and 62 miles). Jeff was a 90 hour PBP finisher later that year, though, and I struggled through my 120 mile season best. Go figure. Jeff's performance prompted me to consider the Ride Across INdiana (158 miles/18 hour limit) this year. Mike B., Mr. Iron Man, said he might ride RAIN and if he does he'll let me hang on his wheel. And, of course, the Chicago Bicycle Show will be held March 26-28 on Navy Pier. 10:45:10 PM |

RSS In June of 2002 LLRX published an article titled RSS for Non-Techie Librarians. Although it's well over a year old, it's still a good basic introduction to the subject. 2RSS offers articles, software, and a directory of RSS feeds. A fine place to start, as is the Weblogs Compendium. LII has a list of links to RSS info sources. 10:09:58 PM |
