Here's some info about the show I'm working on this summer.  We've got two episodes in the can so far, one about enhancing the brain and another about robots.  Details follow:

WHAT'S NEXT?

"NEXT" is a new CBC radio show where futurology meets social
commentary. It's a look at where the culture is headed, through
technology, trends, and Big Ideas.  We track emergent technology and
culture not for their own sakes, but to explore its effect on our psyche
and on our community.  "NEXT" recognizes that 'the next big
thing' might not be a thing at all; it might be an idea, a trend, a
revolution.  On "NEXT" you'll meet the scientists, artists, and
designers shaping and commenting on our future.

WHO'S NEXT?

"NEXT" furthers producer, writer and broadcaster Nora Young's love/hate
relationship with technology and the bright, shiny future.  Nora has
explored these themes as founding host of CBC Radio's Definitely not the
Opera, in writing for print, and by exploring values and social change
in the radio miniseries The Seven Deadly Sins, and The Seven Heavenly
Virtues.  Nora is currently writing a book on technology, pop culture,
and the self.  "NEXT" is produced with Alison Moss and Joe Mahoney.

NEXT TIME

"NEXT" airs Friday mornings at 9:30 on CBC Radio One, and is repeated
at 6:30 pm Sunday evenings, half an hour later in NFLD.  The series
debuts July 2nd and runs through to September 5th.
