The Powers That Be at CBC Radio informed me today that I will be allowed the time and resources to rejig the third pilot of Faster Than Light. What this means is that we will keep most of the elements, including Barry Morgan's version of Richard Matheson's "Born of Man and Woman" and just play with the elements surrounding it in an attempt to create as good a version of the show as possible.
I'll be working with Alison Moss, with whom I worked on Nora Young's show NEXT this past summer. Alison is an excellent producer and I'm delighted to have her on the project. I will miss Fergus Heywood, though, with whom I made the first version of pilot #3. I'm trying to lure Fergus back in an unofficial capacity.
I'm also pleased that Robert J. Sawyer will continue as host. He's a patient man, Rob, and I sure appreciate it.
This final version of the show will be resubmitted to the CBC Radio Program Development committee, and they will decide its fate. Here's hopin'...
