Today I was assigned the agreeable task of producing a pilot for a series called Emanations, written by Robert J. Sawyer and Michael Lennick, one of the projects greenlit after CBC Radio A&E's successful genre proposal call, which garnered over four hundred submissions. It's kind of an interesting state of affairs; Rob and I still have Faster Than Light in the works, and now this. We're going to get some science fiction on the air one way or the other, it seems.
I've also been assigned another non-SF project to produce which is also very exciting, but the details of which I'm going to keep under wraps for a little while. All in all, about thirty dramatic projects are now in various states of development, the first of which will be broadcast in January. There is going to be a lot of fantastic radio coming out of CBC Radio A&E after Christmas. This is the beginning of a serious radio renaissance, something many of us have been waiting for for a long, long time.
