I've acquired a bit of a reputation at work as the "science fiction" guy.  I don't mind this reputation at all... I love science fiction and fantasy; it's a niche I'm happy to fill.

So the other day one of my co-producers approaches me and says, "Joe, I need your opinion on something.  Something I'm sure you know the answer to."

I think, great, Ann respects my opinion.  Ann is the Executive Producer of "GO" on Saturday Mornings and a longtime producer of Between the Covers, as well as the producer of many fine radio plays.  And here she has deliberately sought me out for my opinion on something... me specifically.  Why?  Because she respects me.  She knows I'll have something intelligent to say on the matter.

She's holding a sheaf of pages, and points to a word on one of the pages.  "How do you pronounce this word?" she asks me.

"Ewok," I tell her.  "It's pronounced Ee-wock."

Yep.

A reputation.

With lots of respect.  :-)
