Had some writers into work yesterday to show them around, give them some idea of our drama facilities. Rob Sawyer and Michael Lennick dropped by, amongst others. Rob I've known for some time, fifteen or sixteen years, I guess, and it's always great to see and talk to him. I worked with Michael's brother David about fifteen years ago, when David was hosting Night Camp, but it was my first time meeting Michael and some of the others. Michael and the other writers were utterly charming, obviously champing at the bit to get going on their respective projects. I can't wait to see what they come up with.
On a personal front, still hard at work on the novel. Rob's written sixteen novels since I first met him, I haven't even written that many short stories. Oh well! Guess I've made a fair bit of radio in that time, and worked on a few films. But the novel's going well (knock wood). It may take me as long to finish mine as it took Tolkien to finish his, but the main thing is that I'm having a lot of fun working on it. C'est l'important, non?
