Doctors are very busy people. They need to find time to keep up with breaking developments in the field of medicine. The pharmaceutical representatives make the doctor's task much easier by providing doctors with the latest information on research. Obviously, this information is heavily biased toward the perspective of the pharmaceuticals.
Is a pharmaceutical company paying off your doctor?
As a result of the influence of pharmaceuticals, North America has a health care system that features specialists in bones, specialists in cancer, specialists in blood, etc. etc. etc. They have been educated in a system controlled by the pharmaceuticals and they get their research directed by pharmaceuticals and they get most of their scientific information from pharmaceuticals.
That begs the question "Where is the specialist for the entire body?"
