Alive and Well
Last night I read an interesting e-book, ALIVE AND WELL, written by Dr. Philip E. Binzel, Jr. M.D. It’s an account of his learning the role of nutrition in health in general and in the treatment of cancer in particular. It is also an account of his harassment by the medical establishment's goons. The book is also available at Amazon.
Dr. Binzel, now retired, used Laetrile as the principle method of supplying his cancer patient’s body with the necessary ingredients to fight the disease. What I found particularly interesting was the reason any good cancer diet should exclude meat and all other animal fats.
Why A Cancer Patient Must Avoid Meat
In Dr. Binzel’s own words, “The reason for such a diet goes back to Chapter Two. Remember, I said that Dr. Krebs et al. had found that the cancer cell had a protein lining (or covering), and that if the body dissolves that protein lining, it would kill the cancer cell. The dissolving of that protein lining, they said, is done by the enzymes trypsin and chymotrypsin, (these two enzymes are part of the term pancreatin, see Cancer Ignorance. ) which are secreted by the pancreas. It is important to understand that it takes large quantities of trypsin and chymotrypsin to digest animal protein. Thus, the cancer patient who is eating animal protein may be using up all, or almost all, of his trypsin and chymotrypsin for digestive purposes. This leaves none of these enzymes available to the rest of the body.”
Imagine the cancer cell is like a nut enclosed in a shell. The shell around the nut is like the protein coating around the cancer cell. That shell must be dissolved before the cancer cell can be killed. Okay, Dr Philip, so now I have to cut out the chicken and fish.
I read the entire book in about an hour and if you want an explanation on the chemistry of cancer or the politics of cancer then this is a must-read.
I have been searching for an e-mail address for Dr. Binzel but have had no luck. I wanted to say "Thank you" to a wonderful human being. The character of this man shines through the pages of his book. I saw a warm hearted man, kind, courageous, generous, intelligent, and strong with a great sense-of-humor. I bet his family loves this man fiercely.
