High Enema

The high enema is usually done using a colema board. For more information on enemas see this previous post.

Prior to doing the enema, one paves the road to a good colon cleaning by taking a mixture of Bentonite and psyllium hull husks with water. One tablespoon of psyllium (about $5.00 per pound) and one tablespoon of Bentonite ( about $15.00 per quart) are mixed with about 3 ounces of water. Mix well and drink. Follow with another 10 ounces of water. I suggest taking this mix every 2 or 3 hours for as many as you can bear. Drink plenty of water because the mixture absorbs a lot of water that causes it to  swell many times in volume. If you do not drink the water then the required water will be pulled from your colon and that could leave you dehydrated. The bulk of the mixture makes it scour the intestional walls and, at the same time,  the Bentonite absorbs toxins and plaque found on the walls.

A colema board facilitates the introduction of large amounts of the enema liquid into the colon (as much as 3 quarts) and the rapid expulsion of that liquid into the toilet. The board is approximately 4 feet long and is made with a hole at one end that has a splashguard. The hole sets over the toilet bowl and the other end is supported on a chair or other object that will have the board on a level plane. A large container holds the enema solution. While lying prone on your back you are positioned so that excrement and liquid hit the guard, pass through the hole and into the toilet bowl.

That type of equipment will cost you about $300. Perhaps you live in a city where a business will provide the facilities for you. That service is very efficient but can be costly. I am going to explain how you can do the same type of high enema without that heavy expenditure.

You should have had some experience with the coffee-type enema. Then you will have some knowledge of the sort of pressure that the liquid will produce in your bowel. You will also be familiar with using the enema kit as well as holding the liquid in your colon.

I started doing a high enema by lying on my side in a bathtub ½ filled with warm water. I had the enema bag hung from the showerhead bracket using a bungee cord so that the bag was within easy reach. On a chair beside the tub was a container holding 2 quarts (liters) of the enema liquid. The trick is to have the bag empty slowly so that you do not experience cramping. When the bag is about ¾ empty top it up with your container. I found that I could hold 3 quarts of liquid for 20 minutes before releasing it. It is useful to massage the abdomen upward on your right front side, then across the bottom of your ribcage to the left and then down the left side. That will help to loosen any mucus sticking to the bowel wall.

This procedure does not provide you with the volume of liquid nor does it provide you with the opportunity to do several cycles of fill-and-empty as does a colema board unit but it does give you a chance to do a high enema at reasonable expense.
