Ronald Reagan

Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States, has left us. From the moment it was announced encomiums have poured in for the Gipper. Even Europeans, who protested him en masse as an irresponsible, simpleton cowboy, have offered nothing but the highest praise. He was a man who believed in America, her primacy in reverence for freedom and opportunity, and her righteous place as guide for the oppressed. Passionate, never personal were his politics. Having called communism an “evil empire” and fought it on every plane, in every sphere, Mikhail Gorbachev will be among those that mourn at his state funeral. The nation and the world stood more peaceful, more free, and prosperous for his presidency and at last, with God, he is properly thanked.
