I was down with flu for about a week and was unproductive for a good week. I was never sick for such a long duration for best part of my life and I realized the need for "Flu shot". Prevention is certainly better than cure. Anyway itself cures Flu after running its course. For most developers security is an after thought. I went through a security course recently and it was certainly an eye opener for me and now I realize why security has to become a practice and not an after thought. For many of us, security is as much as setting a userid/password. OTN published an article that discusses several aspects of database security. Read Database Security: Beyond the Password.
