Oracle Open World was kicked off during the weekend. It's a change for me that I'm not there in Moscone. Yes, it's a different kind of feeling! I'm not physically present in Oracle’s biggest show ever i.e. Oracle Open World 2005 where we are demoing the latest and greatest of Oracle Application Server and launched Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3. Sounds a bit odd, but reading blogs and viewing keynotes online to be a part of this year’s OOW. Although I'm not there physically in Moscone due to some family reasons, I'm mentally present there and imagine the excitement in show there. JavaOne may be the conference for a Java developer like me but OOW has historically been a bigger shows in terms of attendees. Many people think Oracle Open World is primarily for Oracle DBAs and database developers but we have a lot of sessions on J2EE and SOA topics in the middleware track.
I will be present (physically) in Oracle Open World only on Wednesday and it will be a hectic day for me. I have to deliver a technical session on EJB 3.0 at 3pm and an OTN Expert session at 10:30 beside two hours of booth duty and few meetings. If you are in OOW, then see you on Wednesday!
