Fed up with life in the UK we moved to France for a new start. Left behind the private schooling, traffic jams and housing estates for a better quality of life. We now live in Brittany, France running gites (holiday cottages).

Today is the second anniversary of our arrival in France. To 'celebrate' I have written a story, Finding a Gite business, that details why we came to France and the events from selling our house in England to moving in to our new gite business and lifestyle in France
I intend to follow the story up with an account of the first 12 to 18 months after moving in. After that my blog takes over.

These are our experiences of running a gite business in Brittany, France. A gite is the French equivalent of a country holiday cottage. French culture, language, taxes and bureaucracy. Find out about our gites using the links on the LHS. This is our fourth season (2006) and we are looking forward to the summer. Stories about the road to this point will be added in due course.
