Fed up with life in the UK we moved to France for a new start. Left behind the private schooling, traffic jams and housing estates for a better quality of life. We now live in Brittany, France running gites (holiday cottages).

The workers have not been here for a few days as Thursday (Armistice Day) was a bank holiday and Friday is a pont.
They have finished the granite stonework for the doors at the front with new lintels and filled in most of the surround with stone ready for pointing. The new rear window has been framed with granite and is waiting for stone infill.

These are our experiences of running a gite business in Brittany, France. A gite is the French equivalent of a country holiday cottage. French culture, language, taxes and bureaucracy.
