Tree top climbing

Last year we visited the Foret de Villecartier and saw the assault course up in the tree tops.

Ariel walkwaySo this year I went back with the children so they could try out the new course for Children. The Adult course looked like it had been extended from last year. The junior course takes about 2 hours and is suitable for children from 5 to 10 years old. The kids were kitted out with a harness each and two caribiners on short ropes. They were given detailed instruction on a low-level course to practice each of the techniques and then let loose on the real thing.

Both Elizabeth (8) and Hugh (5) had a fantasic time and really enjoyed themselves.

I would recommend a visit, especially if you have active children, but ensure you have suitable footwear. The forest is under an hours drive from our gites.

These are our experiences of running a gite business in Brittany, France. A gite is the French equivalent of a country holiday cottage. French culture, language, taxes and bureaucracy. Find out about our gites using the links on the LHS. This is our fourth season (2006) and we are looking forward to the summer. Stories about the road to this point will be added in due course. Renovation nightmares, builders, stress, schooling etc. Stay tuned.
