Augustana Cubs

Cubs blew it, but we won. [posted by Troy] Tonight was Augie's 2nd annual trip to Wrigley Field, and Kim & I joined in the fun. It may even encourage us to give more money to the old alma mater. It was a random sampling of people from across the years. There were close friends (such as Stoner, Colleen, and Justin) and friends that I haven't seen for a while. I really enjoyed seeing some of the guys from Delta Omega Nu who I haven't seen for a while (Korn, Tex, Paul, Zach, Jer, and Butts). Here are a few things that I learned:

• Good news: Wedding planning isn't horrible. It can be done.
• Fappy used to mean fat & happy, but we should now say that you have fattitude which means Fat with attitude. (I'm thinner than I used to be, but I'm with you in spirit.)
• It is legal to sell kits for growing 'shrooms (hallucinogens), and it is even legal to sell the spores that turn into the 'shrooms. It's just illegal to grow them. That's America for you.
• The Cubs just can't beat Arizona.
• Rumor has it that cricket is boring, but rugby is fun.
• There are objections to the animation sequence in Kill Bill Volume I.
• Many people I know are in the Home Depot migration pattern.
• It is possible to memorize all of the questions of a Trivial Pursuit game in order to win. This is tough but it has been done. (Impressive!)
• Life is good when your most troublesome student has an in school suspension.
• Augie grads tend to be making ok money. Augie grads who are not making ok money may not be able to afford a Cubs game.
• There are a string of upcoming weddings. Careful, it's catching!
