New Age techniques for a new age of soldiers: Unconventional medicine finds favor in unconventional war.
Holistic medicine has enjoyed a steady rise in popularity in the U.S. A recent study commissioned by the National Institutes of Health's National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine showed that 36 percent of adults nationwide use some sort of "complementary and alternative medicine." That number jumps to 62 percent when prayer is included. Now that popularity is being realized in the Army in Iraq.
