FDA ASLEEP AT THE PILL http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/opinion/10310488.htm?1c
CRITICS CHARGE AGENCY'S IN BED WITH THE INDUSTRY, AND PATIENT SAFETY SUFFERS
The Food and Drug Administration should be embarrassed by its failure to adequately protect Americans from dangerous prescription drugs such as Vioxx.
Speaking of the FDA, they recently told Pfizer to pull those stupid 'Wild Thing' Viagra ads. These stupid commercials had a middle age guy becoming the wild man like he used to be because he was now taking a blue pill for his penis. It turns out that they were making a claim that the drug increases sexual desire. That has never been proven. It also omitted some other key information like side-effects or who shouldn't take it Viagra. Wow, you guys at the FDA are really making a comeback now. Here is another idea for even stronger work. How about pulling all drug ads because they sabotage physicians' relationships with patients, they are full of propaganda, they out and out lie, they are full of misleading images and lastly, they have no place on television or magazines?
If you agree, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE TELL THE FDA WHAT YOU THINK- DEMAND ACTION http://www.fda.gov/comments.html
