One problem with  computers is that they use a huge amount of  power, even when idle.  Some are making use of the extra processor cycles with projects like SETI@Home, but if I did that my laptop fan would be noisily running non-stop.  Why?  Because they use even more power when doing something.  One lesson is to use a blank screen saver instead of any of the various animations you could get.  If you must use a screensaver, here is how to make your own.

A picture named _41090185_pooe-eyewire203.jpg So now we have a low power computer that can run from an ethernet cable.  A step in the right direction  for energy savings, but no big deal really since low power has always been a goal of laptop makers.  You don't want to burn your lap and you do want long battery life.

Anyway, still fun to look at new tech stuff.
