Here is the Wiki Article about the Hubbert Curve. This is a great
article with lots of detail about M. King.
Hubbert's theories
about oil depletion and the political and economic implications. It
ends with a long bibliography so a great place to go for lots of
information.
Especially interesting is the list of articles about an
alternate theory of oil creation. Apparently, rather than fossilized
dinosaurs, oil comes from geothermal processes well below the earth's
crust and seeps up from there.
