Walk 3/Run 2 Total 70 minutes

Shuffling along well within myself. Must resist the temptation to start thinking about increasing the length of the long runs more rapidly. In fact, next week, rather than increasing third week in a row, I should make it a rest and recovery week and reduce the length of the long one.

Churned right through that workout, didn't I?

This week, on the non-W/R days, I'm getting started with situps and such again. After a week or two, I'll start going downstairs for a workout in the condo gym. Thus, I'll be on the road three days and in the gym three days, he said hopefully.

No walk today, but for the first time, with hope and anticipation, I looked at the walk/run marathon training program in Bingham's Marathoning for Mortals. I see I'm already on the Walk 3/Run 2 regimen he recommends for the marathon at the end of a 20-week training program.

Hmmm . . . if I continue my conservative approach, by the beginning of May I might be in a position to start Bingham's 20-week plan for a walk/run marathon. which could culminate in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon on September 26.

But's let's take one week at a time, eh? And start watching what you eat so you can shed some pounds.

And stop including warm-up and cool-down minutes in the tally.

That "long one" went just fine, although Run 2 Walk 3 is about my max right now. Nearing the end of the running interval, I'm starting to look at my watch. Wonder if my pace is about 20 mins to the mile, which might mean I've covered 4 miles or so.
