RUN/WALK -- 42 MINUTES, WEIGHT -- 238

Hey! That was my first run in moonlight since 1981 when I spent a month in the Escalante Canyon lands of Utah. It was memorable, thus, I remember it so well.

I went to the quarter-mile track at Pickering High to calibrate my new Nike SDM Tailwind speed and distance monitor. Unfortunately, I was late getting away from work and got there only at dusk. It soon was too dark to see the numbers on the device fastened to the laces of my right shoe, and too dark to read the tiny type in the manual. I do know the thing reads about 5/10ths of a mile short for every mile. I'll have to come back to the track in daylight.

Tomorrow morning, Significant Other and I are off to California for two weeks of poking around the Pacific coast in an RV. I'm looking forward to scenic runs, especially at Big Sur.

Incidentally, my LSD pace these days seems to be just under 14 minutes per mile, running 3 mins, walking 2.
