WALK -- 32 MINUTES, WEIGHT -- 238

As I'm supposed to ease back this week (see post below), I thought I best only walk tonight, along the Ajax waterfront after visiting my old folks.

This is also the week when I'm supposed to start four workouts per week rather than the three I've been using the first year back, in order to get myself ready for the next Bingham-based training program which should take me to 30K on May 7, legs and Lord God willing.

Here's a post to the mailing list operated by Ontario Ultra Series http://ous.kw.net/ regarding an upcoming honeymoon:

Hey Everyone,

Yes, with the new year comes a time of new beginnings, goals and race plans.

With that in mind, we wanted to share our main trail run planned for June 2005. Sorry, but the entries are capped at two and have already been reached.

The pre-race warm-up will start with a brief wedding ceremony. Following the "I do's", Sara Montgomery and I will be hitting the 305km Rideau Trail and running it from Ottawa to Kingston. If all goes as planned, we hope to run/fastpack the trail in 6 days. We just couldn't think of a better Honeymoon Adventure than to run one of our favourite trails in it's entirety. After contacting the Rideau Trail Association and the Kingston Humane Society, we have decided to use our run as a fundraiser for both organizations.

Looking forward to many OUS races in '05 as well.

Any recommendations on lightweight gear (specifically........packs, bags and tents) would be welcome and appreciated. Please email privately to: spaff@canada.com

All the best in 2005! Should be a great year.

Derrick Spafford

PS. Veggie Lasagna will be accepted and consumed in large quantities along the trail for those wishing to support :)
