RUN/WALK -- 4.0 MILES, WEIGHT -- 237

Man, when you hit the open road after a whole week indoors on the treadmill, do you ever want to fly!

That was a great run, in brilliant sunshine, with the minus 10C feeling downright balmy.

I ran four times last week, working up to the new Bingham training program that I'm starting this week. Looking forward to losing weight and building speed and distance as I shoot for a 30K at the beginning of May.

At the Toronto Waterfront half-marathon last September, at my first race on the comeback trail, my time of 3:02:43.2 for 21.1K worked out to 8 mins 38 secs per 1K, or a hair under 14 mins per mile.

Any improvement in pace over the longer distance in May will be considered a victory--and an excellent 63rd birthday gift.
