I'm itching to run in my new New Balance 906 off-road shows, they feel so good, that I tried a brief jog while walking to the car for my twice-weekly physiotherapy session. No, definitely not ready to resume running.

On the weekend, I read about the Yukon Arctic Ultra that follows the route of the Yukon Quest dog race, literally on the heels of the dogs. It's billed as the world's coldest and toughest ultramarathon. It's organized by Germans which may explain why we don't hear much about it.

When I lived in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and ran actively, I dreamt about organizing an Arctic version of the Ironman called Iceman. I guess I was ahead of my time.
