Born-Again Runner
Backgrounder, dated January 9, 2004: I'm in my 62nd year, having carried 242 to 246 pounds on my 6'1-1/2" frame for too many years. My high-school weight was 176, so I could drop up to 70 pounds, if I could. Today, I ran for the first time in years, almost three minutes--twice! I've been born again. Alleluia!

WALK WATERFRONT -- 49 MINUTES

Barely noticed the hamstring on this brisk walk.

At the physiotherapist this morning, I asked Alex to also massage my well hamstring, so I could determine how much a difference there is. The difference from left to right is quite striking, so I'm not done healing yet. Alex said he could feel tightness only in the left hamstring, the injured one.

So . . . I'm unsure about introducing 30-second jogs during walks next week.
