Born-Again Runner
Backgrounder, dated January 9, 2004: I'm in my 62nd year, having carried 242 to 246 pounds on my 6'1-1/2" frame for too many years. My high-school weight was 176, so I could drop up to 70 pounds, if I could. Today, I ran for the first time in years, almost three minutes--twice! I've been born again. Alleluia!

BIKE WATERFRONT -- ABOUT 10KM, NO TIME, NO SPEED

Just a leisurely ride to stay loose, something the little I've read about bicycle training indicates is a good idea for the day after one's long ride. Not unlike a running program.

Starting to feel more comfortable on the bike . . . beginning to daydream about riding century (100K or 100M) in the fall. Probably start with the metric century.
